Despite spending months abroad, I am still deeply curious about the United States. Travel in distant lands is exhilarating, eye opening, and often challenging. But in particular, it instills a sense of how much we are products of our cultural environment. No matter how many times I travel abroad or entrench myself in another culture, I’ll always be American, and infused with the distinct cultural DNA that make up 340 million other Americans. What exactly that means, I am still figuring out. This is an on-going series thats aim is less political and built more from curiosity.
